Krishimitra Manohar (Bhau) Parchure, a well - known expert on organic farming, researched on the turmeric produced in a small area around village Waigaon, Takula Samudrapur, Dist - Wardha, Maharashtra, India.

Bhau was instrumental in inspiring the farmers of Waigaon to form Waigaon Halad Producer Company. He conducted extensive training sessions to help the farmers adopt organic farming methods. He also established the practice of regularly testing the turmeric for its high curcumin content and also to ensure that it does not have harmful chemicals like arsenic & mercury as also for absence of bacteria like salmonella and e-coli.

With expertise of Adv, Ganesh Hingmire, he was successful in obtaining the coveted GI mark for Waigaon Turmeric. 

For his great contribution, Bhau Parchure (1935 - 2020) was awarded "Krishimitra" at the hands of the Hon'ble Governer of Maharashtra.

About Waigaon Turmeric

The Amazing Organic Turmeric from Waigaon, Dist. Wardha, Maharashtra(GI Marked). Turmeric (Haldi) is well known for its multiple medicinal properties. The key ingredient of turmeric which gives it above qualities is “Curcumin”. While most of the turmeric available in the market has 1.5 to 2 percent Curcumin, the CURCUMINA organic turmeric from village Waigaon has about 6 percent, four times that of others.
